Whether you are a plain Jane or have adventurous taste buds, Brisbane restaurants have it all. I try so much food everywhere I go and this Queensland city is no different; it satisfies every craving, and introduced my taste buds to new combinations and renditions every day!
I have compiled a list of the grub hubs that were the most impressive on my taste buds. Everyone is different though – some people love winging it, some people love structure and itinerary! If you would rather not pick and choose randomly for each meal, take this Brisbane food tour and discover more of the best restaurants the city has to offer!
To begin your ultimate taste bud sensation, let’s start your Brisbane restaurant tour in South Bank!
South Bank (my favorite part of Brisbane):
Southbank Beer Garden – botanical isn’t the only garden here in Brisbane! This restaurant has a mouthwatering list of beers. Grab one or 5 and people watch with a riverside view!
Cactus Republic – Right below Southbank Beer Garden is an amazing Mexican restaurant with orgasmic food. Cocktails are great too! It’s totally open so you can sit under the roof or take one step and you’re outside!
Max Brenner Chocolate Bar – Um, why wouldn’t you go here? It’s literally chocolate everything. And did I mention it has chocolate?
Mucho Mexicano – the best tacos I have ever had. Period. They had unlimited tacos (so many different choices) for 25 AUD, I mean how could I not get that? Their margaritas are not shot shy so you won’t be disappointed.
Their best kept secret: the octopus taco – just trust me.
Nitrogenie – Satisfy your sweet tooth with liquid nitrogen ice cream here in Southbank! Creamy, smooth, light and delicious.
Red Velvet Nitro Ice Cream!
Grill’d – Eagle Street Pier is a ‘healthy’ burger joint, all made with real ingredients, and they give back to the community! They have glass jars dedicated to a monthly selection of 3 community groups to donate to, and you can toss your change in the group of your choice.
Bavarian Bier Cafe – Beer, pretzels, sausage. Need I say more?
Ric’s Bar – Live music with phenomenal food? This Nashville girl couldn’t get enough. Also, get your game on while you play giant jenga outside! They have nightly specials, so stop by and fuel up for the night ahead, or a casual date night!
And just a few steps away is…
Finn McCool’s Irish Pub – Everywhere I go, I hit up an Irish pub. For some reason they attract the most laid back, friendly people, including the bartender! Ask for their most expensive shot (20 AUD) and you will not be disappointed. I didn’t eat here so I don’t know what their food is like, just came for drinks after eating at Ric’s!
I met someone there native to Ireland, who had made his home just north of Brisbane, and was invited to go deep sea fishing with him and his wife. Unfortunately we never got the time, but you never know who you’ll run into and the adventures that it will bring!
In the CBD:
Milano – A covered, chic outdoor italian cuisine haven, right in the middle of Queen street. All of their ingredients are locally sourced, too. There are plenty of options, and their pizza sizes have no mercy on your appetite. Give me all the carbs!
Miss Kay’s (in Brisbane’s CBD)- This diner themed burger joint has creatively named shakes and burgers to satisfy every craving and leave you wanting 7 more.
I hope you try some of these Brisbane restaurants and enjoy every bite. Comment below with questions or reviews on any that YOU suggest!
